Windows 7
Windows 7 ships next week, and its a welcome update for a challenged Vista. Most of the reviews are very positive, and I think for good cause in most instances. I certainly think MS has been revisiting its position on forcing folks to do things in specific ways - it almost seems as though they are taking user feedback into consideration. I really like Windows 7! I got a lap top with my new job (yay!) and they wanted the newest so we got Windows 7 and the Vision Processor. It has some really cool features and it doesn’t frustrate me like Vista.
IE 8 on the other hand doesn’t work with Angel, PSU’s version of Blackboard. Though a lot of stuff doesn’t except FireFox and older versions of IE…
I have two copies coming to me. One is Win7 Home Premium 32-bit and came with my laptop…a free upgrade. The other was a special upgrade program for college students. That one is Win7 Home Premium 64-bit and cost $30. I tried the first public beta, and liked it quite a bit, although I never found the problem with Vista. I have never had any major issues with it, so I must be lucky. I’m neither a Microsoft, Apple, or Linux fanboy. I use them all…I like them all, and each one has its strengths and weaknesses.
